Pioneers of Coca-Cola in Mexico
Arca Continental is a company based in Monterrey, Mexico, dedicated to the production, distribution, and sale of beverages from Coca-Cola Company brands, as well as snacks under the Bokados, Inalecsa, and Wise brands.
Currently, Arca Continental is one of the most important Coca-Cola bottlers in the world, serving over 128 million consumers in 5 countries: the northern and western regions of Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, northern Argentina, and the southwestern United States.
In 2026, Arca Continental celebrates a century of history as the first Coca-Cola bottler in Mexico. This remarkable journey began in 1926, when Don Manuel L. Barragán Escamilla obtained the first license to produce and distribute Coca-Cola in the country, operating from the Topo Chico plant in Monterrey.
Later, the concession would be extended to other bottlers such as Don Emilio Arizpe de los Santos, Don Tomás Fernández Blanco, and Don Burton E. Grossmann, who played a decisive role in the expansion and consolidation of the brand across the national territory, giving rise to Arca Continental.
One hundred years later, that pioneering spirit has multiplied thanks to the efforts of several generations.
