AC and IMCC Donate Face Shields to Health Professionals

Monterrey, Mexico, May 18, 2020.-- Arca Continental, as part of the Coca-Cola Mexican Industry (IMCC in Spanish), participated in the donation of more than one million PET bottles, which were then recycled by PetStar, the largest food grade PET recycling facility in the world, which is led by Arca Continental. The recycled material was used to make face shields for medical staff in Mexico.

As part of the support efforts the company has promoted during the health emergency, Arca Continental donated 106,000 protective thermoformed 20-caliber face shields for personnel working at hospitals that are treating people infected with Covid-19 in the territories where the company operates.

Thermoformed 20-caliber face masks are of great use for medical personnel who are in close proximity with patients infected with Covid-19 because they have the flexibility and resistance required to offer adequate protection.

Additionally, as part of the protection and care measures implemented by the IMCC both to contribute to decreasing contagion and to better serve the traditional channel, the initiative will be extended to the company’s salesforce and storekeepers across the country.

With measures such as these, Arca Continental reaffirms its social commitment to the communities where it operates, focusing its efforts on those sectors requiring the most help during the current contingency, and ensuring safe operations that will enable consumers to have access to the beverages they need to stay hydrated.
