Arca Continental and Coca-Cola Foundation Mexico to Invest Over 40 Million Pesos in 190 New Rainwater Harvesting Systems for Schools

Mexico City, September 26, 2024 - Arca Continental, one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers in the world, in partnership with the Coca-Cola Foundation Mexico, today inaugurated the 100th "Escuela con Agua" in its operating territories. It announced an estimated investment of over 40 million pesos for the installation of 190 more systems across different regions of the country by the end of this year and throughout 2025.

 

The investment announcement was made during the inauguration of the first "Escuela con Agua" in Coahuila, reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing access to clean water for people in the communities where it operates, including Aguascalientes, Colima, Durango, Jalisco, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, and Zacatecas.

 

“Escuelas con Agua” currently represents a total storage capacity of 23 million liters of rainwater, benefiting over 36,000 people, including students, teachers, parents, and local residents.

 

At the event marking the inauguration of the 100th "Escuela con Agua" and the investment announcement, attendees included Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas, Arca Continental Board of Directors Chairman Jorge H. Santos Reyna, Executive Director of Arca Continental Mexico José Borda Noriega, and Coca-Cola Mexico Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Director Patricio Caso Prado.

  • At a national level, the Coca-Cola Foundation and the bottlers of the Mexican Coca-Cola System have inaugurated 319 "Escuelas con Agua," benefiting 100,000 students.
