Arca Continental and Fundación Coca-Cola México Invest $1.5 Million MXN in 6 New “Escuelas con Agua” in Arteaga

The installation of these systems will benefit up to 960 students, with an annual rainwater harvesting potential of 765,000 liters—equivalent to 76 water trucks.
This action is part of Arca Continental’s water security strategy, aligned with its sustainable business model.
Arteaga, Coahuila – June 12, 2025. – With the commitment to contribute to water access and promote a culture of responsible use, Arca Continental, one of the world’s leading Coca-Cola bottlers, and Fundación Coca-Cola México, in collaboration with the Municipality of Arteaga and the Government of Coahuila, inaugurated six new rainwater harvesting systems in schools across the municipality as part of the “Escuelas con Agua” program.
The inauguration ceremony was held at “José María Arteaga” Elementary School, one of the beneficiary institutions, where authorities, the school community, and partners gathered to celebrate this initiative that promotes equitable access to water.

With a total investment of $1.53 million pesos, these installations will directly benefit up to 960 students and will allow the collection of up to 765,000 liters of rainwater per year, equivalent to 76 water trucks, depending on rainfall and usage conditions—enough to cover between 3 and 5 months of water needs in the schools.
The program is complemented by educational workshops aimed at students, teachers, and families, with the goal of fostering a culture of responsible water use that goes beyond the classroom and into homes.

On this matter, María Bárbara Cepeda – Secretary of Citizen Engagement, Social Innovation Projects, and Productive Public Investment of the Government of Coahuila – stated: “We are very happy to work together to promote this program. With this inauguration, there are now three municipalities where rainwater can be effectively utilized. We are very grateful to Arca Continental for being a fundamental pillar of teamwork to build a prosperous Coahuila.”
For his part, José Juan Estrada – Director of the Northeast Region of Arca Continental México – added: “At Arca Continental, we are committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we operate. The installation of these rainwater harvesting systems is a clear example of how we generate shared value, joining efforts with governments and partners to improve the school environment and provide new generations with access to clean water and better living conditions.”
Ana Fierro, Director of the Escuelas con Agua program, added: “The installation of these systems reflects the commitment of Fundación Coca-Cola México and the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry to bring water to more people.”
This initiative is part of Arca Continental’s water security strategy, aligned with its sustainable business model, which seeks to facilitate the availability and access to water for people, communities, and operations.
To date, Arca Continental has inaugurated 133 “Escuelas con Agua” in its operating territories, benefiting more than 47,000 students. These schools are part of the more than 600 that make up this national initiative by Fundación Coca-Cola México.
