Arca Continental and Fundación Coca-Cola México invest MXN $1.20 million in 4 new “Escuelas con Agua” in Allende, Nuevo León

The installation of these rainwater harvesting systems will benefit over 1,000 students, with an annual capture potential of 900,000 liters of rainwater—equivalent to 90 water trucks.
This initiative is part of Arca Continental’s water security strategy, aligned with its sustainable business model.
Allende, Nuevo León – July 1, 2025.– As part of their commitment to increasing access to water and promoting a culture of responsible use, Arca Continental—one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers in the world—and Fundación Coca-Cola México, in collaboration with the Municipality of Allende, inaugurated two of four new rainwater harvesting systems at local schools as part of the “Escuelas con Agua” (Schools with Water) program.
The inauguration ceremony took place at “Sidrac Flores” Secondary School, one of the beneficiary institutions, where local authorities, the school community, and allies gathered to celebrate this step toward equitable access to water.
With a total investment of MXN $1.20 million, these installations will benefit around 1,000 students and enable the collection of up to 900,000 liters of rainwater annually—equivalent to 90 tanker trucks—depending on rainfall and usage. This is enough to cover 3 to 5 months of water needs in the schools.
The program is complemented by educational workshops for students, teachers, and families, designed to foster a culture of responsible water use that extends beyond the classroom and into homes.
Eduardo Leal Buenfil, Mayor of Allende, commented:
“We are very happy to launch this project and, above all, grateful to Arca Continental and Fundación Coca-Cola for including our municipality and joining forces to bring this benefit to the entire community.”
José Juan Estrada Salazar, Director of the Northeast Region at Arca Continental México, added:
“At Arca Continental, we are committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we operate. Installing these rainwater harvesting systems is a clear example of how we generate shared value by joining forces with governments and partners to improve school environments and provide younger generations with access to clean water and better living conditions.”
This initiative is part of Arca Continental’s water security strategy, aligned with its sustainable business model, which aims to ensure water availability and access for people, communities, and business operations.
To date, Arca Continental has inaugurated over 130 “Escuelas con Agua” in its operating territories, benefiting more than 47,000 students. These schools are part of the more than 600 included in Fundación Coca-Cola México’s national initiative.
