In collaboration with the Municipality of Múzquiz and the Government of Coahuila, Arca Continental and Fundación Coca-Cola México opened six rainwater harvesting systems that will benefit up to 2,300 students.
With a collection potential of 500,000 to 1 million liters of rainwater per year, this initiative strengthens Arca Continental’s water security strategy.
Múzquiz, Coahuila – May 28, 2025. To promote water conservation among children and communities, Arca Continental—one of Coca-Cola’s largest bottlers worldwide—and Fundación Coca-Cola México, in collaboration with the Municipality of Múzquiz and the Government of Coahuila, opened six new rainwater harvesting systems in local schools as part of the “Escuelas con Agua” program.
The opening ceremony took place at Secundaria Estatal Profesor Agustín Terrazas Menchaca, one of the beneficiary schools, where local authorities, the school community, and partners gathered to celebrate this step toward equitable water access.
These systems will directly benefit up to 2,300 students, providing them with a clean and consistent water source for school activities, thereby improving hygiene, health, and learning conditions.
María Bárbara Cepeda, Secretary of Citizen Engagement, Social Innovation Projects, and Public-Productive Investment for the Government of Coahuila, stated:
"With the support and participation of all sectors, including private initiatives like Arca Continental, we are proud to work together to meet the needs of our people and continue improving quality of life across Coahuila."

Each system can collect between 500,000 and 1 million liters of rainwater annually, depending on rainfall and usage—enough to cover 3 to 5 months of a school’s water needs. The program also includes educational workshops for students, teachers, and families to promote a culture of responsible water use that extends beyond the classroom.
"We believe a sustainable business model must create value beyond the economic. With 'Escuelas con Agua,' we reaffirm our commitment to being a good neighbor in the communities where we operate, making a positive difference through water access," said José Juan Estrada, Director of the Northeast Region at Arca Continental México.
Rodrigo Feria Cano, Executive Director of Fundación Coca-Cola México, added:
"Escuelas con Agua is a seed for change. By educating and empowering students in responsible water use, we are shaping a generation committed to their environment and community. At Fundación Coca-Cola México, we firmly believe that what we plant today will be tomorrow’s legacy."

This initiative is part of Arca Continental’s water security strategy, aligned with its sustainable business model focused on ensuring water availability and access for people, communities, and operations.
To date, Arca Continental has installed 124 “Escuelas con Agua” in its operating territories, contributing to the more than 600 schools supported by this Fundación Coca-Cola México initiative nationwide.
