The new Vive PetStar Center opens its doors to students, government authorities, academia, and community members interested in learning firsthand about the bottler’s world-class circular economy model.
Located within PetStar’s collection center in Escobedo, Nuevo León, the facility showcases how thousands of recovered bottles are recycled, generating environmental, social, and economic value.
Monterrey, Nuevo León, June 3, 2026 – Arca Continental, one of the world’s largest Coca-Cola bottlers and PetStar’s principal shareholder, together with Coca-Cola Mexico and PetStar, inaugurated the first Vive PetStar Center in Escobedo, Nuevo León. Open to the public, this new space aims to educate and engage more people in understanding the bottle-to-bottle circular economy model that has positioned Mexico as a global leader in food-grade PET recycling.
Located within PetStar’s Bottle Collection Center in Escobedo, the facility will allow students, government officials, researchers, strategic partners, and interested community members to gain a clear and immersive understanding of how Arca Continental’s packaging circular economy operates—from bottle recovery to the production of new food-grade recycled resin.
The bottle-to-bottle model is particularly significant because it keeps recycled PET within the economy rather than allowing it to become waste in the environment. It preserves the value of the material, reduces the use of virgin resin, strengthens supply chain efficiency, and generates social benefits for thousands of people involved in the recovery, collection, and transformation of PET. In addition, the recycled resin produced by PetStar has been carbon neutral since 2020 and is Cradle to Cradle certified, reflecting international standards for quality, traceability, and sustainability.
“At Arca Continental, we promote the circular economy of our packaging through 100% recyclable bottles, world-class recycling infrastructure, and initiatives that foster a recycling culture within the community. The Vive PetStar Center represents a new space to inspire and strengthen shared responsibility toward recycling,” said Jesús Lucatero, PACS Director at Arca Continental Mexico.
Recently, the bottler reported tangible results: by the end of 2025, Arca Continental had achieved an average incorporation of 36.6% recycled resin in its PET bottles, one of the highest rates in the industry across the continent.
As Arca Continental celebrates its 100th anniversary as the first Coca-Cola bottler in Mexico, the company continues to strengthen initiatives aligned with its sustainable business model, advancing the circular economy of its packaging and generating shared value for the environment, people, and the communities where it operates.
Individuals and groups interested in visiting Vive PetStar may request tours and educational visits through the digital platform available at petstar.mx.
