  • The company accelerates a long-term strategy based on three pillars: efficient use in operations, conservation and replenishment of sources, and access to water in communities.

Monterrey, N.L., March 22, 2026— In the year it marks 100 years as the first Coca‑Cola bottler in Mexico, Arca Continental reaffirmed—on the occasion of World Water Day—its long-term commitment to water stewardship, supported by a comprehensive water management platform designed to assess entire ecosystems through a holistic lens and ensure their long-term sustainability.

This platform integrates environmental, operational, and social variables across each territory where the company operates, enabling Arca Continental to identify water-related risks, strengthen watershed resilience, and guide actions that help secure long-term water availability for its operations, surrounding communities, and local ecosystems.

Arca Continental’s water strategy is structured around three strategic pillars, embedded in its Sustainable Business Model and tailored to the specific conditions of each region: efficient water use, conservation and replenishment of water sources, and access to water for people.

“At Arca Continental, we understand sustainability as a core component of our business model and as a tangible way to contribute to the communities where we have operated for more than a century” said Guillermo Garza, Chief Public Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability Officer.

Pillar 1: Efficient water use in operations

From an operational standpoint, Arca Continental reported a water use efficiency ratio of 1.53 liters of water per liter of beverage produced, positioning the company among the industry’s leading performers. This result is supported by robust controls and continuous monitoring to ensure responsible water use.

Water management at production facilities is reinforced through an integrated approach to the full water cycle, including treatment and control processes. As a result, 100% of industrial wastewater discharges are treated through on-site or authorized treatment systems, operating under regulatory requirements and internal standards, with centralized oversight enabled by digital monitoring platforms.

Pillar 2: Conservation and replenishment of water sources

As part of its long-term vision, Arca Continental highlighted a portfolio of water replenishment and watershed restoration projects in regions where it operates. In Mexico, the company reported the annual recovery of 13 billion liters of water through initiatives focused on efficient irrigation, ecosystem restoration, and water infrastructure improvements.

Under this pillar, Arca Continental has also implemented nature-based solutions, designed for wastewater treatment and reuse. In Baja California and Jalisco, Arca Continental and Coca‑Cola Mexico operate two artificial wetlands that contribute to watershed conservation and provide clean water for productive activities.

As an example of initiatives aimed at strengthening urban water resilience, the company is participating in the rehabilitation of the Mina II Aqueduct in the Monterrey metropolitan area. This project is expected to recover more than 4 billion liters of potable water per year by repairing leaks in existing infrastructure, in collaboration with authorities and strategic partners. Together with the “Reconnecting with Water” initiative, these efforts could enable the recovery of 7.5 million cubic meters of water annually, equivalent to 21.4% of the capacity of La Boca Dam.

At the international level, Arca Continental also reported progress such as the restoration of the Richland Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in the United States, with an estimated 20 million liters of water replenished for the region; irrigation efficiency and wetland restoration projects in Argentina; and initiatives in Ecuador to strengthen the Daule River basin, including the conservation of 1,600 hectares and an estimated 740 million liters of water replenished per year.

Pillar 3: Access to water for people

On the social front, Arca Continental reported that in Mexico it supports nearly 200 schools through solutions such as rainwater harvesting systems, community cisterns, and mobile water supply units to provide water to people in vulnerable conditions.

In Peru, the company highlighted an “Works for Taxes” (Obras por Impuestos) project to deliver drinking water and sanitation services to nearly 68,000 residents of Pucusana, as well as improvements to sanitation infrastructure in 12 schools. In the United States, Arca Continental reported the installation of 209 rainwater harvesting systems, representing an annual capacity of 1.17 million liters for vulnerable communities. In Ecuador, the company has installed community chlorination systems in rural areas with limited access to safe water.

Arca Continental underscored that water sustainability is a long-term commitment and a shared promise for the next hundred years, reaffirming that its strategy integrates operational efficiency, environmental restoration, and community access as complementary pathways to strengthen water stewardship.
