Arca Continental Strengthens Recycling Culture in Saltillo with the Inauguration of Two New Collection Stations

- With these two new stations, Arca Continental reaches a total of six recycling stations in Mexico and over 200 PET collection points across its operating territories.
- These actions are part of its Circular Economy Strategy, which promotes investment in infrastructure, strengthens the recycling chain, and fosters a culture of responsible waste collection.
Saltillo, Coahuila, September 22, 2025 – In an effort to promote Circular Economy practices and encourage citizen participation in responsible waste management, Arca Continental, one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers in the world, and Coca-Cola Mexico, in partnership with the Environmental Department of the Municipality of Saltillo, inaugurated two new community recycling stations in the city, located at Biblioparque Norte and Biblioparque Sur.
With an investment of nearly 600,000 pesos, these stations will allow the community to deposit PET plastic, aluminum, paper, cardboard, and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), preventing these materials from ending up in landfills and advancing toward a more accessible recycling culture.
From Biblioparque Norte, Saltillo’s Mayor Javier Díaz González stated: “We are very pleased to launch this recycling project for the benefit of our city. We thank Arca Continental for its continued collaboration on initiatives that improve the environment and quality of life—such as the mobile water purification plant that has been providing free water to western neighborhoods since June, and the well equipment that will increase our potable water distribution capacity by up to 10%. All of this reflects Arca Continental’s commitment to the people of Saltillo and the powerful synergy that can be achieved with strategic allies for the good of our society.”
With this inauguration, Arca Continental now operates six recycling stations in Mexico in Nuevo León, Chihuahua, Durango, and now Coahuila—along with more than 200 PET collection points across its territories, consolidating an infrastructure that promotes recycling at both community and national levels.
“At Arca Continental, Circular Economy is a key pillar of our sustainable business model. The collection stations we are inaugurating today are a clear example of how we innovate to engage our communities in bottle-to-bottle recycling of our products, reinforcing our commitment to the environment,” said Jesús Lucatero Díaz, Director of Public Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability at Arca Continental Mexico.
Through projects like this, Arca Continental strengthens its Circular Economy Strategy, which integrates infrastructure investment, development of the recycling chain, and promotion of responsible citizen collection practices. Through PetStar, the world’s largest food-grade PET recycling plant, the company already recycles 7 out of every 10 bottles it places on the market.
